You can make comments and read comments on a post by clicking on the speech balloon icon at the right of the post title (it turns blue when the mouse pointer hovers over it). The number in this icon (if any) is the number of comments already made. If there are other comments on the same topic, you can click “reply” inside one of them to have your comment appear in the same conversation thread. Clicking “reply” outside any comment starts a new thread.
You can also post a comment by clicking on the “Leave a reply” link at the bottom if the post. For many posts, I will add additional information about the topic in the form of comments after the post announcing the topic appears.
Only comments from members of the Kahala Nui community are welcome. Since the website is available to anyone who can find the web address, you will asked to provide a name and email address. If you do not have an email address or prefer to keep yours hidden you can enter a fake one, such as noemail@nowhere.com. I will only use the name to verify that commenter is from Kahala Nui, and if so, I will authorize the comment to be posted. This procedure makes to harder for outsiders to use the comment as a means to generate spam.
You may see a “cookie opt-in” checkbox when you post a comment. If you check this, the blog will attempt to place a short text file ( a “cookie”) on your computer. If this is successful, you won’t have to login when you post future comments.
Please be sure that your comments are civil and that you avoid personal attacks if you disagree with something in the post or another comment. I reserve the right to withhold approval of any comment that fails to meet these standards.
Thanks for your interest in Conversation Café.
